The new approvals bring the total number of India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) projects to 12 , with cumulative investment reaching ₹1.64 trillion (approx. RMB 118.3 billion).

Project details:

  • CML (Dholera): a compound semiconductor fab + ATMP facility. It will produce 6‑inch GaN epitaxial wafers (24,000 units/year) and Mini/Micro LED display modules (7,200 sqm/year) – marking India’s entry into GaN foundry.

  • SSPL (Surat): an OSAT (outsourced semiconductor assembly and test) plant for discrete devices, with design capacity exceeding 1 billion chips per year – strengthening India’s back‑end packaging capability.

ICgoodFind : India doubles down on semiconductors – GaN manufacturing and OSAT projects expand its compound semiconductor footprint.
